MANJUNG: The search for 5-year-old Sharlinie Mohd Nashar is still concentrated in Selangor, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said.

The search is in its third week.

In the meantime, he said police had stepped up intelligence work to trace the girl.

Musa said police believed Sharlinie, abducted while playing at a kindergarten not far from her Taman Medan house in Petaling Jaya, was still in the country.

"The search is now concentrated in Selangor but will be extended based on information received," he said after a visit to the RM53 million Manjung district police headquarters here yesterday.
The construction of the complex, comprising 10 administrative and 23 accommodation blocks, was completed in November last year.

Also present was state police chief Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah.

Musa said police were disappointed that some people regarded Sharlinie's disappearance as a joke by sending false information.

"Please remember there is now a family undergoing a hard time and we need information that can lead to the girl's whereabouts."

On efforts by Sharlinie's family to engage the services of bomoh to help find the missing girl, Musa said police did not have any objection.

"It is another form of assistance. But we cannot rely on such information to find the girl."

A group of bomoh visited the girl's family last Tuesday and said that Sharlinie was believed to have been hidden in a flat located within a 5km radius from her home.

Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Arjunaidi Mohamed, however, said checks of flats around the area had turned up nothing.

On whether Sharlinie could have been taken out the country by sea, Musa said it was impossible for the authorities to patrol the entire country's shoreline.

On another matter, Musa said that all new police stations must be disabled-friendly while existing ones had been directed to provide facilities for the group.

Teen arrested for bid to extort RM5,000 demand via mobile

PETALING JAYA: A 16-year-old schoolboy has been arrested for trying to extort RM5,000 from Sharlinie Mohd Nashar’s parents for the little girl's return.

The boy, who made several calls, also demanded that the parents reload his mobile phone with RM200 in credit.

The teenager from Bagan Serai was picked up from his house at 6.30am yesterday with the help of Perak police, Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm II Mazlan Mansor said.

This is the second arrest related to Sharlinie’s case after a 27-year-old maid was detained in Johor Baru for sending false SMSes on Sharlinie’s whereabouts.

The boy was taken to the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters at 1.15pm and has been remanded until Friday.

Two girls go missing within 48 hours

PETALING JAYA (Bernama) - Less than 48 hours after six-year-old Nur Fateha Zaidi went missing in Desa Sepakat, another child went missing in neighbouring Taman Medan in the PJS area, Petaling Jaya.

In the 11.30am incident, Sharlinie Mohd Nashar, five, also known as Nini, was reported missing while playing with her elder sister Sharliena, eight, at a playground, about 200 metres away from their house.

Petaling Jaya OCPD, ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed received a report on the missing case at 4pm which was lodged by her parents.

He said Nini, the couple's youngest of three children, all girls, was clad in a striped light blue-white sleeveless top, light blue short skirt and pink slippers.

"The victim is about three feet two inches tall, of slight build with a round face, tanned complexion and short hair," he told reporters at his office yesterday night.

Arjunaidi said police were investigating, but at the moment they had classified it as a missing person case but did not dismiss that it could be linked to the abduction of Nur Fateha on Monday.

Nini's mother Suraya Ahmad 28, a housewife, said Nini was asked by Sharliena to accompany her to Muqaddam class at a neighbour's house but they went to the playground instead.

While on their way home, Sharliena realised that Nini was not behind her when she looked back and informed her mother about it.

Suraya said she and a neighbour went looking for Nini on a motorcycle in the rain until 2pm but could not find Nini.

Janji ibu bapa Sharlinie kepada penculik

PETALING JAYA 13 Jan. – Ibu bapa Sharlinie Mohd. Nashar, 5, yang masih marah dan sedih atas kehilangan kanak-kanak tersebut berjanji tidak akan berdendam dengan penculik anak mereka itu.

Sebaliknya ibu Sharlinie, Suraya Ahmad ketika membuat rayuan kepada penculik berkenaan dalam nada sebak dan beberapa kali mengesat air mata di pipi di sisi suaminya, Mohd. Nashar Mat Hussain berkata:

“Kami cuma mahukan Linie selamat. Pulangkanlah anak kami, kami sangat rindukan dia... tolonglah kamu (penculik) pulangkan Linie.

“Memanglah kami masih marah (dengan apa yang terjadi), mana ada ibu yang boleh terima anaknya diculik orang.

“Tapi kalau kamu (penculik) pulangkan Linie dengan selamat, kami janji tak akan berdendam dengan kamu, kami cuma nak anak kami... itu saja yang kami harapkan, kasihanilah kami.”

Ketika Suraya ditemu bual oleh wartawan, Mohd. Nashar tidak berkata apa-apa tentang rayuan isterinya itu.

Tubuh badannya kelihatan sangat lemah kerana keletihan berjaga dan ‘ke sana ke mari’ sejak empat hari lalu manakala raut wajahnya jelas menunjukkan kemurungan, kesedihan dan kekecewaannya.

Sepanjang hari ini para pemberita ‘hampa’ tidak mendapat sebarang kenyataan daripada Mohd. Nashar yang sekadar menjawab “no comment (tiada komen), no comment.”

Namun apabila Suraya menangis teresak-esak di hadapannya sambil memberitahu wartawan tentang rayuannya kepada penculik supaya memulangkan Sharlinie, Mohd. Nashar mengangguk-angguk tanda setuju apa diperkatakan isterinya itu.

Dalam pada itu, Suraya yang tidak menang tangan melayani wartawan dan pemimpin yang mengunjungi mereka berkata:

“Kami sekeluarga merindui Linie dan harap dapat berkumpul semula dan menjalani kehidupan seperti biasa,” katanya sambil mengesat air mata.

Mengenai penemuan patung kanak-kanak perempuan kira-kira 100 meter dari rumahnya, Suraya berkata:

“Apa yang saya tahu... patung itu milik anak jiran saya, ia bukan kepunyaan Sharlinie.

Jazimin offers support to Sharlinie’s parents

PETALING JAYA: He relived the trauma and grief of losing a child when he read about a missing five-year-old.

Knowing the pain the father was going through, Jazimin Abdul Jalil felt compelled to drive to Taman Medan here to offer emotional support.

Jazimin: Urged the press to be fair to Sharlinie’s parents
He spent nearly four hours with the parents and relatives of Sharlinie Mohd Nashar, believed to have been abducted on Wednesday.

Jazimin lost his eight-year-old daughter Nurin last year.

The girl had gone to buy hair clips from the night market just metres away from her flat in Wangsa Maju. She never returned.

In September, her body was found stuffed in a sports bag. She had been sexually abused and murdered.

“I suffered for 27 days – going around looking for her, the frustration of not knowing, the anxiety of waiting and eventually, the grief of discovering that my child had died.

“It was also difficult having to cope with all kinds of allegations written by some press, for example, that I was in debt with Ah Longs or that my wife and I were negligent parents,” said Jazimin.

He urged the press to be fair to Sharlinie’s parents by reporting accurately as some people might not come forward to help if they assumed that the parents were negligent.

“The important thing is to help find Sharlinie,” said Jazimin, who came alone.

He said he saw some similarities between the photofit of the suspect released by the police in Nurin's case and the photofit of the male suspect in the Taman Medan case.

Save the children

ANOTHER child has gone missing, the second child to disappear in the same neighbourhood in Petaling Jaya in under a week. Coming three months after the brutal murder of little Nurin Jazlin, 5-year-old Sharlinie Mohd Nasyar's absence since Wednesday morning is an urgent reminder that more has to be done to ensure children are safe.
The proposed Nurin Alert system would help immensely. Modelled on the successful Amber Alert programme in the United States, public notifications are made through media outlets, helping in cases when police need to disseminate information quickly and widely, to find an abducted child.

But preventing abductions is always going to be better than even the best system for recovering a taken child. A slew of measures has just been announced to fight rising crime, but prevention is something that Malaysians will have to take responsibility for.

Studies in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada have shown that abductions by strangers are rare. The majority of missing children were taken by one of their own parents, usually divorced and denied custody or visiting rights. Abduction by relatives and known people is also common.

In Malaysia, there is much less data available but it seems safe to say stranger-abductions are crimes of opportunity. If opportunities abound, even the best-manned police force will struggle to keep up.
As in other countries, the pattern of rapid industrialisation and economic growth here has been followed by widespread urbanisation and fast-paced change.

This has created environments where communities are more fragmented and less social, where apathy and inattention give predators the chance they need to take a child from a playground, a street, a school compound. Even ever-vigilant parents need to teach their children, young ones included, the skills they need to survive.

They should be taught how to avoid abduction like they should be taught how to avoid getting hit by cars when crossing the road. Adults often assume children possess skills they may not have, so it will take more than just saying "bad men will kidnap you and make you beg on the streets".

Children are taught to respect and trust adults, so they need to learn how to sense danger. They should be told to kick and scream if someone forces them into a car. In this, at least, the government and the police can take a lead, funding awareness programmes, distributing booklets and offering training.

A sound programme is sorely needed if this year is not to be another year scarred by news of missing children.

Suria FM to provide updates on missing girl

KUALA LUMPUR: Suria FM has joined in the efforts to locate missing five-year-old Sharlinie Mohd Nashar.

Chief executive officer Engku Emran Engku Zainal Abidin said the Bahasa Malaysia radio station would give hourly updates on the little girl.

“Everyone should take part in the search to help the police. We hope Suria FM listeners will help to look for the girl.

“We will continue to make the hourly announcement until she is found,” he said Thursday.

Engku Emran said the radio station would also distribute 500 copies of Sharlinie's photograph and include printed with the Rakan Cop and police operations room numbers via its on-the-road promotion crew Suria Wheel every day.

“We will also post the girl's picture on our website,” he said.

He said listeners who wanted the latest news on the search of Sharlinie should tune in to Suria FM at 105.3 in the Klang Valley or visit its website at www.suriafm.com.my.

A nationwide search is on for Sharlinie Mohd Nasyar who was abducted near her home on Wednesday.
Photographs of the five-year-old girl have been sent to all border crossings and airports throughout the country.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said a large-scale search had been launched for the girl and police had also alerted their counterparts in neighbouring countries.

Musa said photographs of missing girl and a photofit of a suspect had been distributed nationwide.

The photofit was obtained from the description given by a six-year-old girl who was abducted for about three hours in Taman Medan on Monday.
Sharlinie's abduction came some 48 hours later in the same neighbourhood. Sharlinie and her sister went to a playground some 200 metres away from their house in Taman Medan in the morning.

Musa said police are looking into the possibility that both cases were committed by the same suspect. Investigations, however, are still in the early stages.

He also warned the public not to be irresponsible by providing inaccurate information. This, he said, could jeopardise investigations.

RM5,000 Reward For Information On Missing Nini

PETALING JAYA, Jan 11 (Bernama) -- Efforts to locate the missing five-year-old girl, Sharlinie Mohd Nashar, heightened Thursday with posters being put up in various places here.

This include an intitative launched by Deputy Tourism Minister Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai, who offered RM5,000 in reward to individuals who could provide information that would lead to her being found safe.

"I hope that with this reward, members of the public will come forward with information so that Nini will be reunited with her family," he said when launching a campaign to find Sharlinie, here Thursday night.

Lim, who is Petaling Jaya Selatan member of parliament, said a total of 5,000 posters would also be put up around Petaling Jaya.

Sharlinie, or affectionately known as Nini, was reported missing at 11.30am Wednesday while playing with her elder sister Sharliena, 8, at a playground some 200m from their house in Taman Medan.

Meanwhile, Sharlinie's mother Suraya Ahmad, said her child was asthmatic and needed medications three times a day.

"Nini has asthma since she was small and we have been taking her to the clinic for treatment... but there are times when her condition become worse and we have to take her to the University of Malaya Medical Centre," said Suraya, 28.

She was met at a joint news conference by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan and Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil on the matter Thursday.

Sharlinie's Father Mohd Nashar Mat Hussain, 29, said he received numerous text messages about his daughter.

"The latest message, about 10am, said that my daughter was at a bus stop in Butterworth, Pulau Pinang," he said.

Cops begin massive search for Sharlinie

PETALING JAYA: Police have begun a massive search for five-year-old Sharlinie Mohd Nashar who disappeared from a playground about 200m from her house in Taman Medan on Wednesday.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said a task force headed by Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed has been formed with Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor police.

He said posters of Sharlinie and the photofit of a suspect in the attempted abduction of a six-year-old girl near her flat in Kampung Sepakat on Monday, about 2km from where Sharlinie went missing, have also been sent to all police stations located at the borders.

The girl was found three hours later in Wangsa Maju.

Musa said there was a possibility that the suspect was linked to the abduction of Sharlinie and the previous cases in Kampung Baru.

“We have told them to be on the lookout for anyone trying to cross the border with a girl fitting the description of Sharlinie.

“We have also alerted all airports and our counterparts in neighbouring countries to be on the lookout,” he told reporters at a joint press conference with Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil at the Petaling Jaya police station yesterday.

Musa said the police want to interview those who saw Sharlinie being abducted.

“The incident occurred about 11am. At that time there were several stalls and people in the area.

“So those who might have witnessed the incident should come forward to help us identify the criminals involved in the case,” he said, adding that this would enable the police to take swift action in locating the girl and nabbing the culprits.

He said those with information on Sharlinie’s whereabouts could contact her father Mohd Nashar Mat Hussain at 016-258 3450 / 016-270 9096 or call the police at 03-7966 2222 or Rakan Cop at 03-2115 9999.

Asked about a phone call and text message received by Sharlinie’s father, Musa said police were investigating its authenticity.

“People should only give genuine information and not take advantage of other people’s grief,” he said.

Musa said he has directed Selangor CPO Deputy Comm Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar to discuss with the Taman Medan Village Security and Development Committee on having parents or an elderly person from every housing estate at playgrounds.

“By doing this, everyone, including parents and the police, will be able to monitor the children,” he said.

PETALING JAYA: Another girl has gone missing. This time the victim is five-year-old Sharlinie Mohd Nashar who disappeared while playing about 200m from her house in Taman Dato Harun on Wednesday.

Police are not ruling out the possibility that the “Kampung Baru molester” – the man responsible for the cruel killing of Nurin Jazlin Jazimin – could have abducted Sharlinie, the second to be reported missing in the Taman Medan area in two days.

On Monday, a six-year-old girl was abducted by a man on a motorcycle when she was playing alone near her flats in Kampung Sepakat, Taman Medan, about 2km from where Sharlinie went missing.

The girl was found three hours later in Wangsa Maju in Setapak.

In the 11am incident Wednesday, Sharlinie had followed her sister Sharliena, eight, to a playground about 200m from their double-storey link house in PJS 2.

Half an hour later, Sharliena decided to return home but Sharlinie did not respond when she called out to her.

Sharliena rushed home to inform her mother, Suraya Ahmad, 28, who went to the playground to search for Sharlinie.

About two hours later, Suraya lodged a police report at the district police headquarters.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed said Sharlinie was last seen wearing a light blue dress with white stripes and pink slippers.

“Anyone who has seen this child at the playground or its vicinity must contact us immediately. She is just over 1m tall, about 20kg in weight, has short hair and a tanned complexion.

“We have formed a task force to find Sharlinie and our focus is to locate her. The incident is similar to the case of the six-year-old girl who went missing on Monday,” he said.

Sharlinie's father, Mohd Nashar Mat Hussain, 29, said he hoped his daughter would be found as soon as possible.

“I appeal to the public to help find her before anything untoward happens to her. I am sure someone would have noticed the two kids playing there,” he said.

Polis Bukit Aman dan Selangor dikerah buru penculik

Selepas dua kanak-kanak diculik dalam tempoh 48 jam termasuk yang terbaru, Sharlinie Mohd. Nashar, 5, di Taman Medan di sini, semalam, polis yang tidak menolak kemungkinan ia mempunyai kaitan dengan beberapa kes culik sebelum ini, menubuhkan pasukan khas Bukit Aman dan Selangor bagi memburu penjenayah terbabit.

Ketua Polis Negara, Tan Sri Musa Hassan berkata, polis melancarkan gerakan memburu besar-besaran penjenayah itu bagi mengembalikan semula kanak-kanak berkenaan kepada keluarganya.

Katanya, siasatan dilakukan mengikut Seksyen 363 Kanun Keseksaan kerana melarikan kanak-kanak dari penjaganya yang jika sabit kesalahan boleh dihukum penjara sehingga tujuh tahun.

“Kita sedang memburu dua suspek melalui lakaran wajahnya dan akan mengedarkannya kepada media cetak dan elektronik secara meluas.

“Polis juga berharap orang ramai agar tampil membantu menyalurkan maklumat kerana di kawasan kejadian terdapat banyak gerai,” katanya.

Beliau berkata demikian dalam sidang akhbar selepas mengadakan lawatan mengejut ke Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Petaling Jaya di sini hari ini.

Turut hadir Menteri Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat, Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil yang turut memuji pihak Utusan Malaysia membantu menyediakan poster-poster mencari Sharlinie.

Dalam kejadian kira-kira 11.30 pagi semalam, Sharlinie dan kakaknya Sharliena, 8, yang dalam perjalanan pulang dari bermain di taman permainan berdekatan rumahnya di Jalan PJS2C/11N, Taman Medan, hilang "dalam sekelip mata".

Ia berlaku hanya sehari selepas kehilangan Nur Fatiha Zaidi, 6, yang dilaporkan diculik seorang lelaki ketika sedang bermain sendirian pada pukul 5 petang di pekarangan flat Desa Sepakat Sri Manja, Kampung Medan, kira-kira dua kilometer dari lokasi Sharlinie diculik.

Bagaimanapun, Nur Fatiha ditinggalkan penjenayah berkenaan di Wangsa Maju di sini kira-kira tiga jam kemudian.

Dalam pada itu, Musa memberitahu, pihaknya akan mengedarkan gambar-gambar Sharlinie di pintu-pintu sempadan negara dan lapangan terbang.

“Ini bagi memastikan mangsa tidak dibawa keluar dari negara,” jelasnya.

Musa seterusnya berkata, berikutan kes itu, beliau telah meminta Ketua-ketua Polis Negeri mengadakan perbincangan dengan pemimpin masyarakat supaya menetapkan seorang dewasa di taman permainan.

“Ini dapat memastikan tiada perkara buruk berlaku dan kalau boleh ia dapat dilakukan dengan cepat,” ujar beliau.

Poster mencari Sharlinie pantas diedar, tampal

PETALING JAYA 10 Jan. – Usaha mencari kanak-kanak perempuan, Sharlinie Mohd. Nashar, 5, yang dipercayai diculik sejak semalam, dimulakan oleh keluarganya seawal malam tadi dengan pemasangan poster di sekitar kawasan perumahan, perniagaan dan perumahan di sekitar lokasi kehilangannya di Taman Medan di sini.

Poster mengandungi gambar, nama dan ciri-ciri fizikal mangsa serta nombor telefon keluarga dan polis untuk dihubungi itu merupakan sebahagian tanggungjawab sosial Utusan Malaysia bagi membantu keluarga mangsa.

Sepanjang usaha yang dijalankan sehingga pukul 4 pagi sebelum disambung pukul 8 pagi ini, 200 keping poster besar dan kecil yang dicetak hasil inisiatif Utusan Malaysia turut ditampal di tempat tumpuan umum dan diedarkan kepada orang ramai di sekitar daerah ini.

Ini termasuk di perhentian-perhentian bas, stesen komuter, stesen transit aliran ringan (LRT), masjid-masjid, balai raya, restoran, medan selera dan pondok polis.

Kerja-kerja menampal dan mengedarkan poster itu dilakukan sendiri ibu bapa Sharlinie, Mohd. Nashar Mat Hussain, 29; dan Suraya Ahmad, 28, serta nenek mangsa, Shamsiah Md. Yusof, 48.

Turut serta ‘bersengkang mata’ bersama-sama mereka ialah ibu saudara mangsa, Lizawati Ahmad, 25, dan tunangnya, Yazrin Abd. Aziz, 26.

Usaha tersebut turut dibantu oleh sebilangan penduduk sekitar yang prihatin terhadap nasib malang keluarga terbabit dan kemudian membantu mengedarkan poster berkenaan.

Sambil berterima kasih kepada Utusan Malaysia yang pantas membantu keluarganya dengan mencetak poster-poster berwarna, Mohd. Nashar dengan nada sebak berkata:

“Saya tidak sangka Utusan Malaysia bertindak begitu cepat membantu keluarga kami dan berharap ada pihak lain yang membantu dalam usaha mencari Sharlinie.”

Ketua Rukun Tetangga Desa Mentari 2, Abd. Rohani Yaakub yang turut serta dalam usaha tersebut pula berkata, pihaknya akan memaklumkan kepada seluruh penduduk kawasan itu mengenai kehilangan mangsa.

Katanya, mereka akan berusaha membantu menyebarkan maklumat mengenai kehilangan Sharlinie semasa rondaan yang dilakukan pada setiap malam.

“Kita amat bersimpati dengan nasib keluarga ini dan akan berusaha menyebarkan poster ini agar dapat membantunya mencari mangsa dengan cepat,” katanya.-Utusan

Polis tubuh pasukan khas Bukit Aman, Selangor

Satu pasukan khas polis Bukit Aman dan Selangor dibentuk serta merta untuk memburu penjenayah yang menculik kanak-kanak perempuan berusia lima tahun Sharlinie Mohd Nashar tidak jauh dari rumahnya di Taman Medan, Petaling Jaya pagi semalam.

Ketua Polis Negara, Tan Sri Musa Hassan memberitahu,pihak polis sedang melancarkan gerakan memburu besar-besaran penjenayah berkenaan dan juga usaha mengembalikan semula kanak-kanak berkenaan kepada keluarganya.

"Pihak polis memandang serius kejadian menimpa keluarga adik Sharlinie, kita sedang menjalankan gerakan mencari kanak-kanak itu," katanya dalam sidang akhbar selepas mengadakan lawatan mengejut ke Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Petaling Jaya di sini hari ini.

Sebelum itu, beliau turut mengadakan pertemuan dengan bapa Sharlinie, Nashar Mohd.Mat Hussain dan ibunya, Suraya Ahmad.

Kira-kira 11 pagi semalam, Sharlinie dan kakaknya Sharliena, 8, yang dalam perjalanan pulang daripada bermain di taman permainan kira-kira 200 meter dari rumahnya di No. 29, Jalan PJS2C/11N, Taman Medan, telah hilang "dalam sekelip mata".

Ia berlaku hanya sehari selepas kehilangan Nur Fatiha Zaidi, 6, yang dilaporkan diculik seorang lelaki ketika sedang bermain sendirian pada pukul 5 petang di pekarangan sebuah flat Desa Sepakat Sri Manja, Kampung Medan, kira-kira dua kilometer dari lokasi Sharlinie diculik.

Bagaimanapun, Nur Fatiha ditinggalkan penjenayah berkenaan di Wangsa Maju di sini kira-kira tiga jam kemudian.

Usaha mencari adik Sharlinie Mohd. Nashar, 5, yang hilang sejak semalam, bermula sejak malam tadi dengan seluruh ahli keluarganya berusaha mengedar poster mangsa di sekitar Taman Sri Medan di sini.

Langkah itu turut dibantu oleh Utusan Malaysia yang bersama-sama mencetak sebanyak 200 keping gambar mangsa serta nombor telefon untuk ditampalkan di restoran dan pangsapuri berdekatan.

Ini dilakukan oleh ibu bapa Sharlinie, Mohd. Nashar Mat Hussain, 29; Suraya Ahmad , 28, neneknya, Shamsiah Md. Yusof, 48, makciknya, Lizawati Ahmad, 25, dan Yazrin Abd. Aziz, 26.

Antara tempat yang dilekatkan poster kanak-kanak itu ialah di masjid, balai polis, pondok bas Taman Sri Medan dan Taman Medan Cahaya.

TV siar fotofit penculik Sharlinie setiap 30 minit

Semua media elektronik terutama Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) akan menyiarkan menerusi televisyen setiap setengah jam gambar fotofit penculik kanak-kanak perempuan Sharlinie Mohd. Nashar, 5, yang diculik tidak jauh dari rumahnya di Taman Medan di sini pukul 11.30 pagi semalam.

Menteri Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat, Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil berkata, tindakan ini akan dilaksanakan sehingga kanak-kanak itu ditemui dan penculik berkenaan dapat diberkas.

"Jangan harap penjenayah boleh melakukan apa sahaja di Malaysia, kita akan pastikan mereka ditahan dan bawa ke muka pengadilan," katanya dalam sidang akhbar bersama Ketua Polis Negara, Tan Sri Musa Hassan di Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Petaling Jaya di sini petang ini.

Polis buru penculik Sharlinie

Kurang 24 jam selepas Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Petaling Jaya menerima laporan culik melibatkan seorang kanak-kanak perempuan berusia enam tahun semalam, pagi ini satu lagi kes serupa dilaporkan berlaku di sini.

Kali ini, mangsa, Sharlinie Mohd. Nashar, 5, dilaporkan hilang ketika bermain bersama kakaknya di padang permainan yang terletak kira-kira 200 meter dari rumahnya di No. 29, Jalan PJS2C/11N, Taman Medan, Petaling Jaya.

Polis tidak menolak kemungkinan mangsa dilarikan oleh lelaki sama yang menculik seorang kanak-kanak lain semalam. Lakaran wajah suspek telah diedarkan kepada media hari ini.

Ketua Polis Daerah Petaling Jaya, Asisten Komisioner Arjunaidi Mohamed berkata, mangsa terbaru diculik kira-kira pukul 11.30 pagi. Ketika itu mangsa sedang leka bermain bersama kakaknya, Sharliena yang berusia lapan tahun.

Menurutnya, kejadian itu dilaporkan oleh ibu bapa mangsa, Mohd. Nashar Mat Hussain, 29, dan Suraya Ahmad, 28, kepada polis pada pukul 4.04 petang ini setelah usaha mereka mencari Sharlinie gagal.

“Ketika hilang, mangsa yang mempunyai tiga adik-beradik memakai baju-T dan skirt berwarna biru muda serta selipar warna merah jambu. Kehilangan Sharlinie tidak disedari oleh kakaknya.

“Memang ada kebarangkalian mangsa yang mempunyai ketinggian satu meter, berat 20 kilogram, berambut pendek dan bermuka bulat itu diculik oleh suspek yang sama,” kata Arjunaidi pada sidang akhbar di IPD Petaling Jaya di sini petang ini.

Kelmarin, seorang kanak-kanak, Nur Fatiha Zaidi, 6, dilaporkan diculik seorang lelaki ketika sedang bermain sendirian di pekarangan sebuah flat di Desa Sepakat Sri Manja, Kampung Medan, Petaling Jaya di sini kira-kira pukul 5 petang.

Jarak flat itu ialah kira-kira dua kilometer dari tempat Sharlinie hilang.

Mangsa yang terpedaya dengan pujukan lelaki itu yang mendakwa mencari kucing dan burung bagaimanapun ditemui semula oleh orang awam di sebuah kawasan di Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur pada pukul 7.45 petang semalam dan kemudian membawanya ke balai polis berdekatan.

Ketua Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Selangor, Senior Asisten Komisioner II Mazlan Mansur dipetik sebagai berkata, adalah terlalu awal untuk mengaitkan kes tersebut dengan kejadian ‘Abang Kucing’ merogol kanak-kanak yang heboh dikatakan sebelum ini.

Pada 21 September lalu, Utusan Malaysia melaporkan modus operandi ‘Pencabul Kampung Baru’ dikenali sebagai ‘Abang Kucing’ yang menculik kanak-kanak perempuan dengan cara mengajak mereka mencari kucing hilang dan berpura-pura menunjukkan muka sedih.

Penjenayah itu dipercayai menggunakan taktik memujuk mangsa mengikutnya mencari kucing miliknya yang kononnya hilang. Selepas diculik, kanak-kanak perempuan itu dicabul.

Dalam pada itu, Arjunaidi memberitahu, kedua-dua kes itu sedang disiasat oleh sebuah pasukan khas polis.

Sementara itu, ibu Sharlinie, Suraya ketika ditemui malam ini berkata, dia tidak menyedari Sharlinie dan Sharliena keluar dari rumah.

“Saya ingat mereka pergi mengaji al-Quran di sebuah rumah berhampiran,” katanya.

Setelah dimaklumkan mengenai kehilangan anak bongsunya itu oleh Sharliena, dia bergegas mencari anak perempuannya itu di sekitar kawasan perumahan dengan bantuan jiran-jiran.

“Pengumuman mengenai kehilangan anak saya turut dibuat melalui pembesar suara masjid berdekatan, namun dia gagal dikesan,” kata Suraya.

Suaminya, Mohd. Nashar berkata, anak bongsunya itu merupakan seorang kanak-kanak yang aktif.

Menurut Mohd. Nashar, Sharlinie tidak pernah mengikut orang yang tidak dikenali.

Beliau merayu orang ramai yang menjumpai atau mempunyai maklumat di mana Sharlinie berada supaya menghubunginya di talian 016-2709096 atau 016-2583450.
